Ingredients

  • ½ cup black rice
  • 2 cups water - for cooking
  • Water - for washing and soaking

Instructions

  • Wash ½ cup black rice three times under running water.
  • Soak it in water overnight.
  • Discard the soaking water and transfer rice to a pot.
  • Add 2 cups water and cook on medium heat with a lid.
  • Stir occasionally and cook until slightly moist and sticky.
  • Ensure rice is fully cooked and mashable.
  • Serve with South Indian curry and vegetables.
