Salem chicken salna
Salem chicken salna is another authentic recipe from regions of Salem. The texture, flavor and taste makes it suitable for steamed rice and parotta. Why not with idly/dosas.. even for idly dosas it is one of the best side dish. Finger licking taste and addictive aroma makes it a super special recipe.
Directions:
1. For Paste 1 (onion tomato paste): Grind Shallots, Tomato, garlic, Ginger, Peppercorns to a fine paste. Grind all these raw, need not saute them.
2. For paste 2 ( coconut paste ): Grind Coconut and Fennel
3. Heat Oil, add the paste 1 (onion tomato paste) and saute until raw smell goes off.
4. Add cleaned chicken pieces and fry for a min or two until it gets mixed with the masala
5. Add paste 2/coconut paste, salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala/curry masala. Mix well and add little water , cook it upto 2-3 whistle
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

- 7 - 8 Nos Shallots/Small onions Roughly chopped
- 1 Large Tomato Roughly chopped
- 10 Cloves garlic
- 1 Inch Ginger
- 1 Tsp peppercorns
- 2 Tbsp Grated coconut
- 1 1/2 Tsp Fennel seeds
- 3-4 Tsp Oil
- 1 Tsp turmeric powdder
- 1 1/2 Tsp Chilli powxer
- 2 Tsp coriander powder
- 1 Tsp Garam Masala
- 1 Tsp Curry masal powder Optional
- 1/2 Kg Chicken
