Salem chicken salna
Salem chicken salna is another authentic recipe from regions of Salem. The texture, Â flavor and taste makes it suitable for steamed rice and parotta. Why not with idly/dosas.. even for idly dosas it is one of the best side dish. Finger licking taste and addictive aroma makes it a super special recipe.
Directions:
1. For Paste 1 (onion tomato paste): Grind Shallots, Tomato, garlic, Ginger, Peppercorns to a fine paste. Grind all these raw, need not saute them.
2. For paste 2 ( coconut paste ):Â Grind Coconut and Fennel
3. Heat Oil, add the paste 1 (onion tomato paste) and saute until raw smell goes off.
4. Add cleaned chicken pieces and fry for a min or two until it gets mixed with the masala
5. Add paste 2/coconut paste, salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala/curry masala. Mix well and add little water , cook it upto 2-3 whistle
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

- 7 - 8 Nos Shallots/Small onions Roughly chopped
- 1 Large Tomato Roughly chopped
- 10 Cloves garlic
- 1 Inch Ginger
- 1 Tsp peppercorns
- 2 Tbsp Grated coconut
- 1 1/2 Tsp Fennel seeds
- 3-4 Tsp Oil
- 1 Tsp turmeric powdder
- 1 1/2 Tsp Chilli powxer
- 2 Tsp coriander powder
- 1 Tsp Garam Masala
- 1 Tsp Curry masal powder Optional
- 1/2 Kg Chicken
