Recipe:
- raw rice – 1/2 cup
- moong dal – 2 tbsp
- soak for 1 hour
- drain and add to cooker after 1 hour
- water – 1.5 cups
- pressure cook for 4 whistles
- add ghee – 2 tsp before mixing
- mash it with ladle
- jaggery – 1 cup
- water – 1 cup
- cloves – 1 crush and add
- cardamom – 2 no, crushed
- let it melt and boil
- strain and add to the cooked rice and dal.
- Add half and mix well, mash if needed. add remaining and mix well.

tempering:
- ghee – 3 tbsp
- thinly sliced coconut
- cashews – 2 tsp
- roast until slightly brown
- black grapes – 1 tsp
- roast till plumpy
- add the tempering to pongal
- mix well

- Salt – a pinch
- Edible camphor – a tiny piece
- Tulsi leaves – 2 nos
- lastly add salt ,edible camphor and tulsi leaves
- Mix again and serve hot!
