Prawns masala fry is a masala coated and marinated prawns fry.

When i say prawns immediately i remember my college days. It was then I had my first prawns. 🙂 My dearie Ramya who is from cuddalore, use to go to her hometown very rarely since it was a long journey for her. We will be waiting for her to come back especially for the yummy prawns her mom use to make. we fight for it and would finish off the whole box in seconds 🙂

Cleaning the prawns

Cleaning the prawns will take a whole lot of time and needs patience. If not properly cleaned may cause upset stomach. When you buy the prawns at the shop, they don’t clean the veins(black thin colored lines inside prawns). To clean the prawns, just slit open prawns a little and pull out the veins out slightly with knife. hold veins tip with your hands and pull out till the end.

Prawns masala fry – Directions:

This recipe, prawns masala fry is simple one and easy to cook. Just clean the prawns perfect and marinate it with turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and ginger garlic paste for 30 min or more. Heat 2 tsp oil, put in the marinated prawns and a spring of curry leaves. close and cook for 10 min. leave it open for another 5 to 10 min until slightly roasted. sprinkle little water and cook if necessary.

Ingredients

main ingredient

  • 250 gms prawns
  • 1 spring curry leaves

for marination

  • 1 tsp chilly powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • marinate prawns with turmeric, chilly powder, coriander powder, salt and ginger garlic paste for 30 min or more.
  • Heat 2 tsp oil, put in the marinated prawns and a spring of curry leaves. Close and cook for 10 min. sprinkle little water and cook if necessary. leave it open for another 5 to 10 min until slightly roasted.

Notes

cooking prawns for longer time will make it rubbery. it will get cooked easily. so maximum of 20-30 min is more than sufficient for it to get cooked.
