Snake gourd dal | Podalanga parippu curry | Padavalanga Parippu Curry with step by step photos and video recipe. – very simple and everyday curry recipe that can be prepared easily for rice with snake gourd and lentils. either moong dal or tur dal can be used in this recipe.
You can either cook the vegetable and dal separately and add it in the curry or just like in this recipe, cook the dal alone separately and add it to the curry, either way works fine. top it with ghee while serving for rice. this goes good even for dosa/idli and chapathi.

- heat oil in a pan, crackle mustard seeds and drop a spring of curry leaves. let the mustard seeds crackle.

- 1-2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 spring curry leaves
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 small tomato chopped
- 1 cup snake gourd finely chopped
- 1 cup cooked moong dal
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 pinch asafoetida
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
