Mullangi poriyal/Mooli thoran is nothing but radish stir fry. Thoran is a kerala dish referring to simple steamed vegetable stir fry. Mooli in Hindi means radish. So that’s all about the dish! Simple, easy and tasty side dish for Roti & Rice.

Radish in my moms house and mils house is mostly used for making sambar and mooli parathas. I had a bunch of fresh baby radishes and dint want to end up making sambar again. So tried making thoran and was even approved by my toddler ;).mullangi poriyal

Mooli/Radish has to be grated first. I use Preethi turbo chop. Super easy and is done in seconds. I just love this addition in my kitchen. It was my moms gift??. I just roughly chopped radishes and put them in chopper. Just a couple of short pulse and there it is! One thing i loved in this turbo chopper is you can stop it exactly to the consistency you want. Also, just a slight press and the work is so easy! Especially chopped onions for salads, omelette and chopping spinach, vegetables are done like a breeze now! Hey ya, one most important thing is, Cleaning is very easy and never a mess like other choppers.
