Kurumulagu kozhi porichathu
Kurumulagu kozhi Porichathu is a typical Malabar deep fried pepper chicken fry. For those who are new to Malayalam, kurumulagu means peppercorns, kozhi means chicken and porichathu means deep fried. Best Dish to try when you are stuck with cold and cough.
Kurumulagu kozhi porichathu pictorial directions:
- Marinate chicken with turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste and salt. Mix well and add rice flour and corn flour. Break an egg into it. mix everything together. sprinkle lime juice. refrigerate for 30 min – 45 min.
- Heat coconut oil, deep fry all the marinated chicken pieces in batch until golden brown.
- Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves. saute sliced onions until brown.
- Add green chilli broken, turmeric powder, thinly sliced coconut pieces. saute until coconut pieces are brown.
- Put in chilli powder,freshly crushed peppercorns and salt (salt for the onions only). Sprinkle little water
- Add the fried chicken pieces.

Ingredients
For marination
- 1/4 kg chicken
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp corinader powder
- 1/4 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tbsp pepper powder
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 1/4 tsp rice flour
- 2 tsp corn flour
- 1 large egg
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp lime juice
For saueting
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 spring curry leaves
- 1 large onion sliced
- 2 long green chilli broken
- 2 tbsp coconut pieces thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp chilli powder
- 2 tbsp freshly crushed peppercorns
Instructions
