Gobi 65 street food style | Perfect Crispy Chilli Gobi Recipe is a quick and easy recipe with tips to get the colour, crispiness and taste of the perfect Gobi 65/ chilli Gobi.
In certain places, Gobi 65 and Chilli gobi is known to be the same. Tempering is NOT done for Gobi dry recipes unless you wanted to bring in extra colour and if the batter does not coat well with the Gobi, tempering with chilli powder is done to coat it again.
Cauliflower being one of the main veg substitute of chicken, the recipe gobi 65 has derived from Chicken 65 recipe. We are adapting the same recipe of chicken 65 here with Gobi.

Ingredients
- 1 medium sized cauliflower
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 5-6 no red chilli
- 2 inch ginger
- 5-6 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup corn flour
- 1/3 cup curd
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 small pinch red food colour
Instructions
Preparing cauliflower for marination:
- Separate medium sized florets from cauliflower, wash in running water. Boil water, add turmeric powder and salt.Put in the cauliflower pieces in it and let it come to a rolling boil. It approximately takes 3-5 minutes. When it comes to rolling boil, putt off
- Strain the water and set the cauliflower aside to cool completely.
Preparing marination ingredients:
- Soak red chillies in warm water for 5 minutes. Grind together ginger, garlic and soaked red chilli.
- mix it with cauliflower florets in a mixing bowl.
- Add together, corn flour, rice flour, pepper powder, curd, salt, turmeric powder
- Sprinkle little water and mix well.
- Mix red food colour in a tbsp water and add to the mixture.
- Mix well and keep it ready
- Heat oil. (Check if oil is hot by putting a piece of cauliflower in hot oil. If it comes to top, oil is hot enough)
- Put the pieces to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Strain it in paper towel.
- Serve with onion rings and with a dash of lemon juice sprinkled on top.
