Drumstick Potato Stir fry recipe | Drumstick potato upperi/poriyal – popularly known as “murungakkai urulai kizhangu poriyal” is one of the very common south indian curry/porial/upperi, recipe for rice. simple, easy and quick recipe.
This recipe is for beginner to cooking as anybody would know this stir fry recipe as a basic menu. Brinjal potato and drumstick curry/poriyal is very common but those who dislike brinjal will go for this curry without brinjal.

potato drumstick curry
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 spring curry leaves
- 1 large onion sliced
- 1.5 cups drumstick
- 1 large potato chopped roughly
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, urad dal split, chana dal
- When it crackles, add curry leaves, sliced onions and fry well for a minute.
- Now add drumstick pieces and potato
- further to this, add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.
- Pour in enough water for it to get cooked.
- Close and cook in medium flame until vegetable is done.
- open and let it dry. serve with rice and curry
