I don’t need to elaborate on the health benefits of Drumstick leaves and it’s importance in our everyday diet. It is very much essential to include greens especially drumstick leaves in our menu. But kids? Will they have the curry or stir fry? How to make them Eat? One form is making soup. Another idea is making dosa. If all these failed. Better idea is to airdry the leaves and grind it to a fine powder. Add this powder to the dosa or curries. If not visibly seen, somehow it gets into their diet.
If not, this idea of raw rice drumstick dosa is something unusual to normal dosa. Tastes amazing and had to be taken hot. Since we are using raw rice and no urad dal. It is always better to have hot to get the exact taste and texture of the dosa.

Ingredients
- 1 cup raw rice
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 cup drumstick leaves
- 1/2 cup grated coocnut
- 1 pinch asafoetida
Instructions
- Soak the raw rice in water overnight.
- Transfer it to a blender, Add salt and chilli powder. Grind it to a fine paste with very little water. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, drumstick leaves , grated coconut to this. Add a little water and mix to a smooth watery batter.
- Take a ladleful and pour in to a medium hot dosa pan. maintain the heat medium and cook it on both sides without covering. Add enough oil and turn sides and cook until both sides are done.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.
Muringaikeerai dosai recipe- Pictorial description:
Soak the raw rice in water overnight.
Transfer it to a blender.
Add salt and chilli powder.
Grind it to a fine paste with very little water. If you add more water, you won’t get a fine paste of the batter.
Transfer to a mixing bowl.
Add cumin seeds to the batter.
A pinch of asafoetida is added.
Add grated coconut to this. You can either add it along with raw rice while grinding or add it after grinding.
Add drumstick leaves to this. Before adding. Wash a couple of times, strain and then add.
Add a little water.
Mix mix mix to a smooth watery batter.
Take a ladleful and pour in to a medium hot dosa pan. Now two things to be kept in mind. Raw rice if cooked for long will become rubbery. Drumstick if not cooked for long may cause stomach trouble. Don’t worry. So maintain the heat medium and cook it on both sides without covering.
Spread out to a big even thickness round
Add enough oil and turn sides and cook until both sides are done.
Serve hot with coconut chutney.
