Mango Thokku ~ How to make raw mango thokku
Mango Thokku – Grated raw Mangoes soaked in specially roasted and ground masala powder and warm oil. the flavor slowly gets in and tastes better the next day. Mango thokku recipe with video and step and step pictures.
I got this recipe from my neighbor who is from Rasipuram – Salem and cooks typical dishes of that kind. Once she gave this thokku to me and i was so much impressed and wanted to badly try it myself as i was so much addicted to it.
We make thokku but it was totally a different recipe from theirs. We don’t add urad dal and chana dal and we add jaggery to the recipe.
In this recipe, I have used kilimooku manga and it is slightly started to ripe. I prefer to make thokku at such stage. Not so raw and just started to ripe. it gives a very very mild sweet taste which enhances the flavor of thokku. Grate the mango with skin and keep it ready.
