Varuthu aracha chutney | onion tomato chutney recipe | tomato onion chutney recipe with step by step photos and video recipe. This is a simple and easy chutney recipe and a very common chutney recipe for dosa, idly or even goes good for stuffed chapathi.
This recipe is without coconut and just with three ingredients – onion, tomato and red chilli. 1:3/4 is the ratio of onion and tomato. Red chillies you can adjust according to your spice level. tadka/seasoning is not required for this chutney. In case you prefer seasoning then season it with crackled mustard and urad dal.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 medium onions
- 3-4 no red chillies
- 2 small tomatoes
- salt to taste
Instructions
- heat coconut oil in a pan, add roughly chopped onions and red chillies. fry until onions turn brown
- now, add tomatoes roughly chopped and salt. fry for a minute on high flame
- transfer to a blender. let it cool and grind to a smooth paste. drizzle coconut oil on top and serve with dosa.
