How to make easy mutton curry in cooker
Wash and clean the mutton pieces thoroughly and take it in the pressure cooker along with turmeric powder and chilli powder.
further add coriander powder and salt. mix well.
add water, close and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles. I add water just until the mutton is covered.
While the mutton is getting cooked, lets prepare the masala. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cinnamon, cloves.
chopped onions are added. Fry until the onions are slightly brown in color.
Furthermore, add slit green chilli, ginger garlic paste and cook well.
blend the tomatoes and the tomato paste to the onions. Mix for a minute.
add salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder.
add coriander powder, garam masala
mix everything together. fry until the oil leaves out the masala. takes time, but do it with patience. Once masala is well cooked, add the cooked mutton pieces along with the water in the cooker. close and cook the curry further for 10-15 minutes.
Open to see the fat specs all over the curry. Mix once and put off. curry is ready to be served.

Ingredients
for cooking mutton
- 500 gms mutton
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp chilli powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1.5 cups water
for making masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 inch cinnamon sticks
- 3 nos cloves
- 2 medium onions finely chopped
- 1 no green chilli slit
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 medium tomatoes grind to paste
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala/mutton masala
Instructions
for cooking mutton
- wash and clean the mutton thoroughly
- Take the mutton pieces in cooker along with salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder.
- add water, mix well and pressure cook the mutton to 4-5 whistles. let the pressure settle down before you open it.
for making masala
- meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and crackle cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cinnamon, cloves.
- when it crackles, add chopped onions and fry until slightly brown.
- further add green chilli and ginger garlic paste.
- cook until the raw smell leaves.
- grind the tomatoes and add the tomato paste to the pan.
- cook for a minute and then add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, mutton masala or garam masala and cook the masala until the oil leaves out.
- add the cooked mutton along with the water. check for seasoning.
- close and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- open to find the oil specs all over the curry floating.
- mix once and serve hot with rice.
